ACADEMIC COACHING
Watering seeds for the future
WHAT ARE AP STUDENTS LEARNING?
STUDENTS LEARN TO CONNECT TO THEIR WORLD AND TO STAY ENGAGED AND ORGANIZED.
WHY ARE THEY LEARNING IT?
BECAUSE THEIR BRAIN LEARNS BEST WHEN ENGAGED!
This can be used in conjunction with other alternative therapies. It takes into account the whole person and helps activate each students natural healing processes as well as restoring their physical and emotional well-being.
ACADEMIC CURRICULUM
OUR ACADEMIC CURRICULUM OPERATES UNDER THE DYNAMIC BRAIN-BASED LEARNING APPROACH WHICH INCLUDES PSYCHOLOGY, NEUROSCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH IN EDUCATION.
OUR UNIQUE CURRICULUM INTEGRATED HEALTH, SCIENCE, HISTORY, VISUAL ARTS, MUSIC AND SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING SKILLS. THE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO RESPOND AND TO TOUCH ON STANDARDS REQUIRED AND IMPLEMENTED BY THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION FOR ALL STUDENTS TO MASTER THROUGHOUT THE YEAR!
Reading Comprehension and Writing Skills
California Common Core State Standards Yearly requirements for English Language Arts/Literacy are organized around four strands: Reading, Writing, Language, & Speaking and Listening.
Students will be guided to build on their foundational reading skills by improving their reading fluency and decoding longer and more difficult words.
Learning also focuses on three new emphases
More exposure to content-rich informational texts
Developing and writing opinions using evidence from books and other text resources
Engaging in group and individual reading and research activities centered on more complex texts with new vocabulary.
An Ancient Science
Students will learn to “do math” through real-world situations Student learning focuses on the concepts and skills for their respective grade. They will learn strategies to use when solving world problems.
Students will also be able to explain why a procedure works and why an answer is correct.
Fluency Expectation: Fluently learn and practice K-6 mathematics standards appropriately.
ASSESSMENT IS AN ESSENTIAL ELEMENT OF INSTRUCTION
Students have varying experiences and knowledge, therefore, assessment is imperative to identify and obtain information on what skills students have and have not mastered yet.
WE ASSESS STUDENTS NOT ONLY THE BASIC READING AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS, BUT ALSO THEY MUST BE ABLE TO THINK CRITICALLY, TO ANALYZE AND TO MAKE INFERENCES!
We administer before students start the program and at the end of the program.
